Events and Special Screenings
Third Thursday Screenings
On the third Thursday, 9 months of the year, the Tallgrass Film Association presents a screening of a new independent film. The 2012 series takes place at the Murdock Theater (535 N. Broadway). Tickets are $10 general admission and $8 for TFA members, teachers, students, military and seniors.

Cinema Alfresco
Cinema Alfresco is our FREE outdoors film series. Every Thursday from the fourth Thursday in May until the end of July, Tallgrass brings you a film in a casual setting and pass giveaways for the festival. We start gathering around 7 p.m. and start the film as soon as the sun goes down.
For more information, see the Cinema Alfresco page.
Tallgrass Filmmakers Lab
Classes are offered year-round for the film hobbyist and aspiring professional. Experts in all aspects of film production conduct workshops and seminars, and offer opportunities for fledgling filmmakers to meet others in the industry.
For more information, see the Filmmakers Lab page.
Tallgrass Special Screenings
Throughout the year, we hold special screenings and events featuring films that have some special reason for standing apart from all the other film series we do. Special screenings might include a special guest, a wine or beer tasting, a bowling party, or might be held in a unique or unusual setting.
For more information, see the Special Screenings page.
Tallgrass Road Show
The Tallgrass Road Show is a mobile outreach program taking a selection of short films — totaling about 90 minutes — from previous Tallgrass Film Festival shorts programs. The program is a range of dramas and documentaries that is customized for each venue. You can usually find the Road Show playing at your favorite Kansas historical theater.
For more information, see the Tallgrass Road Show page.
