The Hops, the Malts and The Barley: A Fundraiser for the Tallgrass Film Association

TFA presents, The Hops, The Malts and The Barley on Friday, April 11, from 6:30 to 9:30 pm at Abode Venue. The event serves as a fundraiser for the Tallgrass Film Association, which fosters an appreciation of the cinematic arts by creating shared experiences around the international medium of film.

The evening includes a "beer cocktail" competition featuring mixologists from some of Wichita’s favorite watering-holes: The Anchor, Heroes Sports Bar & Grill, Larkspur, The Monarch, Mort’s, Public and Taste & See. Each will create a signature “beer cocktail” with craft beers sponsored by House of Schwan. (The winning mixologist, as voted on by attendees and a team of VIP judges will take home bragging rights and VIP TALLPasses and  their "beer cocktail" will be featured as the signature drink at a VIP party during the 12th annual Tallgrass Film Festival in October.)

Attendees will also enjoy complimentary wine, 12 craft beers on tap (and a cash bar featuring signature martinis by Abode), plus, the East Side Humidor’s Cigar Tent, vittles by Olive Tree Catering, the musical stylings of DJ Carbon and of course live-action entertainment with a Tallgrass twist. Dress up, dress down, wear your boots.

“The Hops, The Malts and The Barley” is sponsored by House of Schwan, FIAT of Wichita, Abode Venue, The Eastside Humidor and Howerton + White.

Tickets are $80 in advance and $90 at the door. Quantities are limited and advanced purchase is recommended. (For federal income tax purposes, you can deduct $50 as a charitable contribution.)

And, ror one night only, scoop up your 2014 festival VIP TALLPass for just $150! The festival TALLPass includes access to all films, galas, VIP Filmmaker Lounge and VIP events.

Proceeds from the event will support TFA, a 501(c)3 arts organization, which relies on corporate sponsorship and individual donations to provide funding for year-round cinematic programming, educational events and the annual Tallgrass Film Festival.
